A Fully Equipped Motel for Hikers

Our rates are very hiker friendly, and we can accommodate pets. Reservations are recommended, but not required.
and we'll be happy to drive out and pick you up at the trailhead if we're not too busy. If you anticipate reaching town over the weekend and you have a mail drop at the post office, we can help with that too.
You can have your hiking gear shipped to our motel from the manufacturers prior to your arrival so that you can set out on the hike as soon as possible. Rangeley and Stratton are very "hiker-friendly" towns, and you're sure to choose us when you experience our warmth and hospitality firsthand.
Trail Shuttles and Slackpacking Rates
At The Stratton Motel, we provide complimentary shuttles to our guests for the to the Appalachian Trail road crossing at Route 27. The slack-packing shuttle charges are based on single passengers only. Call for our tiered pricing for multiple passengers. Our shuttles can accommodate up to seven.

We have been the only motel offering hikers' shuttles in the Carrabassett Valley since 1995. Our hostel bunkhouse is available during the summer only.
